Summary
Description
The Development Coordinator supports Centro Hispano’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts by helping to build and strengthen development systems and workflow. This role ensures donor data stays accurate, acknowledgements go out on time, and donor communications—in English and Spanish—are consistent and well-executed. The coordinator also supports fundraising events, including the Latino Awards, and works closely with the Development Director to implement processes, track follow-ups, and strengthen stewardship. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, creative, and comfortable working across multiple platforms, including social media, the organization’s website, Canva, Google Docs, and Google Slides. This position is perfect for someone with development operations experience who is eager to grow and be coached within a developing department.

Ongoing Responsibilities
Development Operations & Donor Management 40%
- Maintain accurate donor records, including contacts, accounts, and profiles (addresses, emails, affiliations), ensuring data is complete and up-to-date.
- Track donor interactions, follow-ups, and stewardship activities to strengthen relationships.
- Support opportunity and campaign tracking, running reports and exports for mailings, outreach, and event follow-up.
- Maintain data hygiene by identifying duplicates, missing fields, or outdated information, and flag issues to the Development Director.
- Use Salesforce to support acknowledgement workflows, including tracking, logging, and reporting.
- Assist the Development Director in implementing efficient workflows and processes across all development operations.
Donor Stewardship & Communications 35%
- Prepare and send timely donor acknowledgements and follow-ups (email and print), including recurring gifts and pledge tracking, ensuring accurate logging and consistent stewardship.
- Draft, format, and distribute donor communications—including newsletters, fundraising appeals, updates, and event invitations—tailored for segmented audiences.
- Manage email and contact lists in Levitate and Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy, list integrity, and proper audience targeting.
- Support bilingual communications in English and Spanish, including translation, cultural tailoring, and alignment with Centro Hispano’s mission and branding.
- Support donor stewardship touches as assigned (thank-you emails, follow-up notes, cultivation lists)
- Help maintain recurring donor and pledge follow-up lists as needed
- Create and manage segmented send lists in Levitate based on guidance (opt-in status, donor type, event lists)
Events & Fundraising 15%
- Support planning and execution of fundraising events, especially Latino Awards (lists, invites, RSVP tracking, reminders, post-event follow-up lists)
- Create and manage Levitate event invitations and RSVP tracking; support day-of check-in/reporting as needed
- Assist with donor tours/cafecitos and cultivation events (scheduling support, prep materials, follow-up logging)
- Help coordinate monthly Centro Happy Hours (invitations, RSVPs, reminders, and basic logistics support)
Content Design & Light Web 5%
- Create basic development materials in Canva (invites, event graphics, sponsor thank-yous, donor-facing visuals)
- Coordinate with program staff to gather stories, photos, and updates that support development communications
- Make light WordPress (website) updates as needed (simple edits, event announcements, donation link updates) based on comfort level/training
- Social Media for event and campaign marketing
Administrative 5%
- Maintain organized development files and templates (appeals, sponsorship materials, event files, SOPs)
- Support bi-annual fundraising mailings (list prep, segmentation support, volunteer coordination for stuffing/folding, tracking)
- Assist the Development Director with task tracking, scheduling support, and cross-team coordination as needed
Performance Expectations
- Ensure development systems and records are consistently accurate, organized, and maintained to support donor stewardship, reporting, campaign tracking, and overall fundraising operations.
- Execute donor stewardship and communications responsibilities in a timely, professional, and mission-aligned manner, including acknowledgements, segmented outreach, bilingual communications, and donor follow-up.
- Provide dependable coordination and administrative support for fundraising events, campaigns, and development projects, contributing to strong execution, team efficiency, and positive donor engagement.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) and bicultural preferred.
- Commitment to Centro Hispano’s vision and mission.
- Technology proficiency, including GSuite, Excel, Salesforce CRM, or similar software, Canva and web design a plus.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Engaging and community-minded advocate for Latino issues.
- Strong relationship builder- able to quickly connect with community members, colleagues, and partners, foster trust, and build positive relationships.
- Experience with project management and demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, manage people, problem-solve, and produce results.

Salary, Schedule and Benefits
- $46,000 a year, dependent on education and experience
- 40+ hours per week
- Schedule: Flexible but will require some evenings and weekends
