Clinch-Powell’s Appalachia CARES program is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps member to work with our communications team.
This position will be primarily involved in social media account support and community outreach. Activities will include monitoring social media activity, growing our presence, posting content, engaging with followers, community outreach at events, hanging flyers, networking with local businesses and organizations, and event support. A strong candidate will have experience with Instagram and Facebook, at minimum, with a basic knowledge of Canva and general graphic design concepts, with a willingness to learn and expand skillset. An exceptional candidate will have experience with graphic design, social media management, marketing, event planning, and/or nonprofit communications.
We are looking to fill this position on by June 1. Work will take place onsite in Rutledge, TN. Exact weekly hours will vary based on the term agreed upon, but options from 20-40 hours a week can be discussed, including flexibility for students when the school year resumes. AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance while in service and an education award for tuition or student loans upon successful completion.
Requirements
Min. 17 years of age, criminal history check, valid driver license, reliable transportation, and AmeriCorps citizenship verification required. Should be skilled in social media platforms, have excellent writing and speaking skills, and a basic knowledge of Canva. Graphic design, communications/marketing experience, and social media management experience are a plus.
