Are you a college student or someone that needs part-time hours? Reduce your stress by lining up meaningful employment now! We are currently hiring staff for the 2026-27 school year.

SHADES of Development, a leading after school program provider in East Tennessee, is looking for dependable, energetic, and caring individuals who want experience working with children in a group setting. Candidates would be responsible for leading STEM, creative arts, and healthy lifestyles activities with PreK or K-5th grade students.

Summer Schedules:

PreK & K–5th Grade: 7:00 AM – 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Substitutes: Must be available for full shifts at least 2 days per week

School-Year Schedules:

PreK: 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
K–5th Grade: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Substitutes: Must be available for full shifts at least 2 days per week

Pay Range: $15.00–$20.25 per hour, based on experience and education

Requirements

Experience working with children (preferred, not required)

Under supervision, the Landscaper will work with the Director of Horticulture & Grounds along with Zoo staff to accomplish the care, maintenance and enhancement of the landscapes and gardens. The position also includes some refuse management and participation in volunteer workdays, events, and programs within the Horticulture and Grounds Department. This position requires the operation of agency vehicles to transport passengers, including disabled passengers, to medical appointments and other services and to deliver meals and other items to elderly homebound individuals.
